Museums and Art Galleries
Relaxed lunches & Cream Teas
Join GuideEast on this memorable journey through the Countryside that inspired Constable, Gainsborough, Munnings and even the great forger Tom Keating. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings and rolling countryside of the Stour Valley and visit the scene of some of Constable’s most famous paintings including the “Haywain”. Optional visits to Christchurch Mansion, Gainsborough’s House, the Sir Alfred Munnings Museum or the modern firstsite Gallery at Colchester can be included in this trip.
Intrigue and Romance
Marshy Inlets and Hidden Coves
The UK’s Most Easterly Inhabited Island
Over 300 miles of coastline
This is Essex!
A stunning sea landscape from sandy beaches to mudflats, inlets and hidden coves in one of the longest coastlines of any English county. Let GuideEast show you colourful barges, and sailing villages with weather-boarded cottages.
All alongside a landscape of intrigue, ghostly tales and romance as we travel along a small part of this coastline whose flat nature made it the perfect venue for the smuggler-of-old! The tour can be tailored to include visits to Maldon, Mersea Island, Tiptree, or even travel through the Dengie Peninsula towards Burnham on Crouch “the Cowes of the East Coast”.
